2010 BOUTIQUE WORKSHOPS
In 2010 Sahli School of Art puts you in charge… to create the workshop you want! Stay close to home, eliminate the expense of travel, enjoy the comfort of familiar surroundings and friends…bring Don Sahli and Art of Painting to you!Imagine the possibilities!
Artists of all abilities are welcome to create a Sahli School of Art Workshop. The workshops will be held at locations to be identified by the hosting artist and Don Sahli. As always, instruction is individual and the wonderful atmosphere of artistic fellowship and camaraderie continues in your own backyard.
Recommended class size is 10 students for 3-4 day workshops. For your convenience, the required art supplies for the workshop can be purchased through Sahli School of Art at discounted prices and shipped to workshop location. WEEKLY CLASSES 2010

From the intial sketch to the final brush stroke, Don Sahli will share his knowledge and philosophy of Art of Painting.
Beginning Friday, September 10, and continuing throughout the fall, weekly plein air classes will be held Fridays, with Tuesday morning classes continuing at Sahli School of Art.
FRIDAYS: 10AM-2PM at locations TBD. Come and enjoy the challenges of plein air painting at beautiful locations on the Front Range and throughout the Rocky Mountains. Don will share hidden Rocky Mountain venues - discovered through years of searching.
PLEIN AIR: Adj. of or relating to painting outdoor daylight.
Paint outdoors! Learn to use the tools of value, color, and temperture to quickly capture the essence of the scene. Bring the studio outdoors, experiencing the elements as one works, adds new dimensions to painting. Throughout a step-by-step process, Sahli reveals the essentials of plein-air painting and how to simplify complex landscapes into "simple pieces." Experiencing the elements of nature, students discover the pleasure and challenges of being part of the distinctive fellowship of plein air painters.
Majestic mountains, shaded canyons, placid lakes, old mining towns, golden aspens, the colors of fall, and peaceful meadows are the subjects for discovery and painting!
TUESDAYS: 11AM-3PM at Sahli School of Art in Evergreen, Colorado. Come & enjoy the fun while painting in Don Sahli's beautiful garden and exceptional studio.
STUDIO: n. a place for the study of art; the working place of a painter.
Working in oil, learn and expand the fundamental principles of painting; color relationship and harmony, design, composition and form. Painting a wide variety of still life arrangements allows one to examine these principles with a disciplined and manageable approach. A first-time painter will be led patiently through these bascis, while an advanced professional will be guided through the priciples by means of challenging goals, problem-specific exercises, and insightful criticism.
